However, the future of Moose Products was cut short when the company was sold in 1987 to Aritech, later to become part of GE. When Wade Moose, company founder, got back into the industry, he rehired the original Moose engineering group with a goal to surpass their past achievements. The only problem was what to call the company. Playing on the Moose name, an employee suggested a close relative and Elk Products was born. Currently, Wade is still one of the investors in Elk Products, but focuses his attentionon his other investments. Kirk Phillips, Elk CEO directs Elk Products. ELK Products, Inc. designs and manufactures premium quality electronic equipment for the professional security and automation installer. ELK’s product line includes: controls, recordable messaging annunciators, speakers, sirens, timers, batteries, transformers, power supplies, relays, structured wiring cabinets, test tools, & accessories.
